The problem

Studying for a school test usually means a parent reading a worksheet aloud and guessing how well the child understood it. A child who can explain an idea out loud knows it better than one who only recognizes it on the page, and a score they can watch climb keeps them going.

What it does

  • Photos or PDFs of a study guide become a study profile (big ideas, vocabulary and steps) and a bank of practice questions, using the parent's own AI key.
  • The tutor asks each question aloud in a natural voice, listens to the spoken answer, and replies out loud and in text.
  • Every answer gets a score and a plain explanation of what it would take to reach 100; try again for a better score, or move on.
  • Explorer mode writes new questions and surprising facts that go past the study guide, and free play opens any big idea.
  • A history of every question and score, with a running score for the whole lesson that makes practice feel like a game.
  • A grown-up PIN, or a passkey, keeps the student screen separate from settings; answers are kept as text, never as recordings.

How it's built

A Next.js application on PostgreSQL. Gemini reads the study material once and grades each spoken answer against a pass threshold, with a limited number of follow-up questions. Sign-in, invite codes, policies, passkeys and the feedback button all come from CoreRift Gate, so the product itself stays small.
